These’s a strange phenomenon the occurs when you listen to music on vinyl or compare photos taken with film to their digital counterpart. There’s a different ambiance created – a vintage feeling that creates a deeper connection with the audience.

The same vintage ambiance was adopted by skateboard filmmakers who popularized the use of the vx1000 mk1 camcorder. The fisheye lens and the fussy image became a staple in skate videos through the 90’s and into the 2000’s; but as technology improved more film makers began favoring high-definition cameras.

Now one of the final vx-enthusiast is joining everyone else in the high-definition world. Pass~Port Skateboards released their final vx-film titled “Good~Bye VX” last week. We’ll be sad to see clearer screens but we know they’ll continue to entertain in HD.
