They say good things come in threes and that’s certainly true in reference to the new partnership between Rome SDS and the Alchemist Brewery benefiting the High Fives Foundation.
The three share a common Vermont connection all call Waterbury home in one way or another. High Fives Foundation founder Roy Tuscany was born and raised in the town while Rome was founded there in 2001. The Alchemist Brewery, brewer of the famous “Heady Topper”, is a favorite destination among locals, with Rome employees among the regulars.
“Grabbing a beer, some dinner, and shooting some pool was a great way to recharge the batteries before heading back to the office for the night shift,” Rome And Director Michael Paddock told TransWorld Snowboarding.
“Safe to say, the Alchemist had more to do with some of our early projects than they realized.”
Rome will be producing 15 snowboards featuring a unique Alchemist themed graphic and will be raffling them off in three separate raffles throughout the winter. The first batch of winners will be selected January 19th with the second drawing February 19th and the final raffle on March 20th. Tickets can be purchased at the brewery with all the proceeds going to Tuscany’s High Five Foundation. It’ll cost you $5 for one ticket, $20 for five, and $100 for 30.
Tuscany founded the High Fives Foundation in 2009 to help provide support and resources to mountain action sports athletes who suffer life-altering injuries. They also spread injury-prevention awareness and have helped 167 athletes. Tuscany founded the national 501.c3 non-profit organization as a way to “pay it forward” after recovering from his own life-altering injury.
Winners of the raffle will be notified via Facebook (@alchemistbeer) and Instagram (@alch3mistb33r) and will have seven days to contact the brewery to claim their snowboard.
